Home - About PRS

The Philadelphia Recorder Society (PRS), a chapter of the American Recorder Society,  is a non-profit organization in the Philadelphia, PA area dedicated to the playing and learning of the Recorder and associated Early and Modern Music.

PRS holds monthly
playing sessions, orchestra-style, with a conductor from September thru May as well as an annual Fall Workshop with a guest professional Recorder performer.   Ensemble performances for the public are also held at times throughout the year at various venues.  See our Calendar or Current Event Schedule.

All are welcome and encouraged to join PRS.  Our members / players tend to range in ability from intermediate-beginner thru to advanced-intermediate.  Feel free to contact us or come and audit  our playing sessions.   See our Membership Info for additional details..

Membership Info:

Membership is open to everyone;   Annual (Sept-Aug) dues are $40; 
Fee for drop-in players: First visit free, then $10 per session.
